Audrey Hamilton was born on August 6, 1956. She became Robert Plant’s ‘road wife’ during the Led Zeppelin 1977 US tour.
That tour ended abruptly on July 26, 1977, when Plant lost Karac, his five-year-old so to a stomach virus. This also signaled an end to their intimate relationship. Plant and the band returned to England and Audrey Hamilton went back to Texas.
In the Led Zeppelin’s song “Hot Dog” that’s said to be inspired by Audrey Hamilton, Robert wrote about their spring fling including the lyric “I took her love at 17”… but this is inaccurate and Audrey later confirmed, the song is indeed about her but stating she was actually 20 at the time.
